Understanding Exam vs Practice Mode

Learn the differences between Exam and Practice mode and when to use each one.

Step-by-Step Guide

Follow these steps to complete this tutorial.

1

What is Exam Mode?

Exam mode simulates real test conditions. Users cannot see correct answers until after submission, cannot pause and resume (unless configured), and must complete within time limits if set. Perfect for certifications and assessments.

2

What is Practice Mode?

Practice mode is for learning and preparation. Users can see explanations and correct answers immediately after answering each question. Great for studying and reinforcing knowledge without the pressure of formal testing.

3

Choosing the Right Mode

Use Exam mode for: certifications, formal assessments, compliance testing, and evaluations. Use Practice mode for: training, knowledge reinforcement, self-assessment, and learning new material.

4

Access Both Modes

From your dashboard, when starting an exam, you can choose between Exam and Practice mode (if both are enabled for that exam). Each attempt is tracked separately in your history.
